A 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-partisan foundation

Goal and Mission Statement
In our region of the USA, service members who have been seriously wounded in Iraq or Afghanistan struggle to rehabilitate from their injuries and resume a normal, fulfilling, civilian life. Many of their injuries are traumatic amputations, brain and spinal cord injuries, shrapnel wounds that will retire them from military service.

Support Our War Heroes is founded on the belief that there are many heroes in our lives and all service members in the United States military are heroes. The purpose of the foundation is to assist service members who sustain life altering injuries and to continue to support them into the future, as necessary.

The foundation aims to accomplish this through the following programs:

Recognition

The foundation hosts "In the Company of Heroes" an annual fundraising event, which honors the sacrifice and courage of our men and women in uniform. The stories of some of these brave warriors are contained in this website. Those who have shared their stories, have helped this foundation grow and prosper and thereby, helped Support Our War Heroes assist their brother warriors.

Advocacy
The foundation will advocate on behalf of the wounded sevice member to ensure that all benefits due are received and that proper and long term medical care is provided.

Short Term Assistance

The foundation offers assistance with any immediate needs within the service member's family, whether financial, psychological or physical, which arise from the rehabilitation or medical care the soldier is receiving. This includes programs to support families visiting their loved ones in military hospitals. It also includes private counseling for spouses and family members.

Planning for the Future

The foundation offers assistance to the service member and his family with the planning and reconstruction of his life after the rehabilitation concludes. This includes private sector employment searches, business planning and financial planning.

College funding may be available to the children of deceased or living, disabled veterans from the War on Terror. Special criteria are established for this award.
